Extract - Templates

Report Miner Suite's Extract supports using Microsoft Word document templates (.DOT files) to automatically format the Word documents generated by Extract. This gives users a tremendous amount of flexibility to specify the exact format of the Microsoft Word documents generated by Extract.

Using Microsoft Word templates, users can now customize the Word documents generated by Extract to include and format the following:

Title Pages
Table of Contents
Headers and Footers
Font Styles
Table styles
Etc...

Report Miner Suite's Extract ships with 3 sample templates to demonstrate the power of templates. The sample documentation available here shows the Employee Profile report generated using each of the provided Report Miner templates.

For example, screen shot 1 shows a page generated by Extract using the "Classic" template.

Screenshot 2 shows the same page, but was generated using the "Sample Template 1" template included with Report Miner Suite's Extract. To switch the template which is used during the Word document generation, simply select the appropriate template on the "Settings" screen.

Configuring Templates

Configuring templates is easy using the Report Miner Suite. If a user would like Extract to use an exising .dot file during Word document generation, then the user would simply go to the "Templates > Setting" screen, and match the styles used in Report Miner to the styles defined in the template. The "Templates > Setting" screen is shown below.
If configuring templates sounds too cumbersome, then a user can simple copy one of the existing sample templates shipped with the Report Miner Suite's Extract, and modify the template as desired. Simply select the template on the "Templates > Setting" screen, click the "Copy Template" button, and start modifying. What could be easier?
